Full List of Animal Shelters in L.A. County Accepting Animals During Wildfires

As wildfires continue to affect Los Angeles County, thousands of residents and their animals are being displaced. The Los Angeles Department of Animal Care and Control (DACC) is providing essential information on where pets and livestock can be safely evacuated. In addition, several rescue organizations are stepping in to support displaced animals.

This guide includes shelter locations, how you can help, and other resources for pets in need during the wildfire crisis.

Where to Bring Your Animals

For Small Animals (e.g., dogs, cats, birds):

  • Baldwin Park Animal Care Center

  • Carson Animal Care Center

  • Downey Animal Care Center

  • Lancaster Animal Care Center

  • Palmdale Animal Care Center

Other Organizations Providing Support

  • Canine Rescue Club: Helping to rescue and rehome pets affected by the fires. This organization is also working with shelters to transfer animals to safer locations.

  • The Labelle Foundation: Offering temporary boarding for pets at their facility.

  • VCA Animal Hospitals: Free boarding for pets displaced by the fires.
